Al-Quds Fund and Endowment of Jerusalem meet with the Tunisian ambassador

The delegation of the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment and the Jabal Al-Mukaber Jerusalem Club recently had a meeting with Ambassador Hayel Al-Fahoum and the embassy staff of the State of Palestine in Tunisia. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the signing of a significant partnership agreement between the Jabal Al-Mukaber Club and the Tunisian African Club.

The partnership agreement was made possible through the generous support of the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment. Notable attendees included members of the Board of Directors of the Jabal Al-Mukaber Club, Vice-President Ali Oweisat, Muhammad Ali Sari, Ismail Sorour, Tamer Obeidat, representatives from the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment, Nasser Al-Tutanji, Moamen Shabaneh, Ahmed Hamo, and the financial director of Al-Quds University, Hashim Dhouib.

Ambassador Al-Fahoum warmly welcomed the Jerusalemite delegation and expressed his immense joy regarding the partnership agreement between the Jabal Al-Mukaber Club and the Tunisian African Club. The Tunisian African Club is recognised as one of the top Tunisian and African clubs, boasting a large and passionate fan base.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Fahoum emphasised the importance of developing Palestinian clubs and their collaboration with Arab and international institutions and clubs. He acknowledged the pivotal role played by these clubs in strengthening the resilience of the people of Jerusalem and empowering young athletes.

Ahmed Srour, the head of the Jerusalem Clubs Association, highlighted the deep Palestinian-Tunisian relations and the significant role Tunisia plays in supporting the Palestinian cause. He provided a comprehensive overview of the history of the Jabal Al-Mukaber Club, underscoring its remarkable achievements, including its recent triumph in securing the Palestinian Professional League title.

Abdullah Al Sarkhi, the Secretary of Jabal Al Mukaber Club, emphasised the importance of fostering communication and collaboration between Jabal Al Mukaber Club and other Arab clubs, specifically those in Tunisia, a country known for its steadfast support of the Palestinian people. Al-Sarkhi elaborated on the terms of the partnership agreement, highlighting its potential to greatly impact the club's activities and expand its fan base across the Arab world.

Muhammad Ali Surrey, a member of the Board of Directors of Jabal Al-Mukaber Club, discussed the board's role in preserving past accomplishments and striving for further success, both locally and internationally. He quoted the famous phrase of the late Emir of Jerusalem, Faisal Al-Husseini, "Buy time in Jerusalem," emphasising the club's commitment to continuous progress.

Overall, the meeting served as a platform to strengthen ties and foster collaboration between Palestinian and Tunisian clubs, with the shared goal of advancing the interests of Jerusalem and its people.
